Come Brunch With Us!
Hands down, our favourite weekend meal has got to be brunch. There’s just something about waking up around 10 AM and heading to your favourite spot with your friends or family for a chance to get together and catch up. And eat delicious food, of course! Brunch also consists of the best of both worlds with savoury options and definitely some things for the sweet tooth in us too!
Lucky for our residents at The Nest, you won’t have to travel far to get yourself a good brunch:
Emma’s Country Kitchen (1108 St. Clair Ave. West)
Brunch at Emma’s consists of many variations of eggs, including eggs benedict (Emma’s Benny), quiche, farm french toast, flapjacks, and others. Oh, and don’t forget about the The I Know What You Did Last Night Burger (AKA the hangover helper) which just might hit the spot on a Sunday morning after a big night out.
There are plenty of delicious goodies in the bakery section , as well as some good takeaway items in the pantry (think soups, mains and sweets to freeze for later). Emma’s is open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM but offers weekend brunch from 9 AM to 3 PM every Saturday and Sunday. They do not take reservations, so you might wanna get there early!
PS: The donuts at Emma’s Country Kitchen are SO good and only available on the weekend, so grab ‘em while they’re hot.
Starving Artist (1078 St. Clair Ave. West)
There is plenty of room to bring your clique for brunch at Starving Artist’s second and newest location on St. Clair Ave. West. This restaurant’s menu is pretty much entirely devoted to waffles – both savoury and sweet. There are no English muffins or bread in sight – it’s all waffles, all the time.
Their brunch is offered all day, any day so no need to wait until the weekend to hit it up. Brunch items include the Waffle Benny which is basically eggs benedict on a waffle, the Sammy Benny (think poached eggs, mini waffles, and smoked salmon) and so many other waffles!
BOOM Breakfast & Co (1036 St. Clair Ave. West)
There’s something for everyone at BOOM Breakfast & Co. Do you like waffles? They’ve got some. Omelettes? Yep, that too! French toast? Pancakes? Burgers? Check, check, and check! They’ve got everything you can think of to eat for brunch, and you won’t go home hungry, that’s for sure.
BOOM is an all-day breakfast place, with several locations in Toronto. Did you know that Bywoods (also in Hillcrest Village) is the latest endeavour by Tony Cappellano and the Boom Hospitality Inc. team?
Did we miss your favourite Hillcrest Village brunch spots? We’d love to know!
